Where equipment is moved over paving, gravel, grass, ramps or cracked factory floors, hard wheels soon reach their limits. Pneumatic tyres cushion bumps with an air cushion, protect load and chassis and can be pushed or pulled with little effort. Typical applications include hand carts, trailers, equipment carts for construction and landscaping, municipal vehicles and transport equipment used outdoors on factory premises. Super-elastic tyres are solid rubber tyres with a particularly elastic construction. They offer comparably good shock absorption but cannot go flat and require no pressure checks. Selection criteria and versions

• Pneumatic or super-elastic: Pneumatic tyres offer maximum ride comfort; super-elastic tyres are puncture-proof and low-maintenance.
• Size and load capacity: Larger wheels roll over obstacles more easily. Permissible load and, where applicable, the specified inflation pressure are listed in the manufacturer's technical documentation.
• Rim: Plastic and steel rims differ in weight, robustness and resistance.
• Bearing: Roller and ball bearings make heavy loads easier to move. For individual wheels, check bore and hub length.
• Type: Individual wheels for existing axles, fixed and swivel castors, also with brake, for new designs.

Are pneumatic tyres suitable for indoor use?

Yes, especially on uneven floors or when transporting sensitive goods. On smooth floors, however, harder treads roll more easily.
