FESTO Valve Terminals and CPX Components
FESTO valve terminals and matching components: CPX control blocks, bus nodes, electrical interfaces for CPV valve terminals and input/output modules.
What is a valve terminal?
A valve terminal combines several valves on a common sub-base and supplies them centrally with compressed air and electrical signals. Instead of tubing and wiring each valve individually, the entire terminal is connected to the controller via a multi-pin, fieldbus or Ethernet interface. This saves space, assembly time and wiring effort and makes diagnostics easier. Besides valve terminals, this category mainly contains components of the modular CPX automation system: CPX-CEC control blocks, CPX-FB bus nodes for various fieldbus protocols, output modules and electrical interfaces for the compact CPV10 and CPV14 valve terminals, including AS-Interface versions.
Selection criteria
- Valve terminal series: determines valve size, flow and number of valve positions, e.g. CPV10 or CPV14.
- Electrical connection: multi-pin, AS-Interface, fieldbus or Ethernet to suit the controller.
- Bus node: the version depends on the protocol used, such as PROFIBUS, PROFINET, DeviceNet or EtherNet/IP.
- Control block: CPX-CEC provides integrated control functionality directly on the valve terminal.
- I/O modules: additional inputs and outputs for sensors and actuators near the terminal.
- Expandability: plan spare positions for future extensions.

Frequently asked questions
Can I replace individual modules of a CPX valve terminal?
Yes, the modular concept allows individual modules such as bus nodes or I/O modules to be replaced. Make sure the type designation is identical and the configuration in the controller is correct.
Which bus node suits my controller?
The communication protocol of your controller is decisive. The version is identified by the bus node's type designation.
