Castors for mobile lean equipment
Material trolleys, picking carts and mobile workstations need castors that suit the structure, the load and the floor. The floor elements in the item LEAN Production building kit include swivel and fixed castors with a standard 140x110 mounting plate and wheel diameters of 100, 125, 160 and 200 mm. A typical configuration combines two swivel castors with brake and two fixed castors, so the trolley is easy to manoeuvre and can be parked securely.
Selection criteria
- Wheel diameter: larger wheels roll more easily over thresholds and uneven floors
- Swivel or fixed castor: swivel castors rotate, fixed castors keep the trolley on track
- Total lock: blocks both wheel rotation and swivel movement
- Directional lock: locks a swivel castor in the direction of travel, for example for long straight runs
