Divide the total load by the number of load-bearing castors. With four castors, it is common to calculate with only three because of possible floor unevenness.

Two swivel and two fixed castors are a common combination for good tracking. For manoeuvring in tight spaces, four swivel castors are used, ideally with brakes.
