Blickle Heat-Resistant Wheels and Castors
Heat-resistant Blickle wheels and castors for ovens, drying chambers, paint shops, hardening plants and other areas with elevated ambient temperatures.
Wheels and castors for high temperatures
In baking and drying ovens, paint shops, hardening plants, sterilisers or foundries, trolleys are exposed to high temperatures permanently or for periods of time. Standard wheels with rubber or polyurethane treads and conventional lubricants quickly reach their limits. Heat-resistant wheels and castors are designed to remain dimensionally stable and functional under heat. This category includes Blickle series with grey cast iron wheels such as B-G and BI-G, castors with heat-resistant plastic wheels such as BK-POH and BK-POHI, and wheels of the ALSI series. They are available as fixed and swivel castors in sizes such as 80, 100, 125, 150 and 200.
Selection criteria and versions
- Temperature range: Check the maximum operating temperature and the duration of heat exposure. Permissible values are listed in the manufacturer's technical documentation for each series.
- Wheel material: Grey cast iron is highly resistant to heat and pressure but runs hard. Heat-resistant plastics run more quietly and are gentler on floors.
- Bearing: Plain bearings are particularly tolerant of heat; ball or roller bearings make it easier to move heavy loads.
- Housing: Zinc-plated steel or stainless steel – the latter also suited to moisture and cleaning, for example in sterilisation processes.
- Load capacity: Material properties can change with heat, so allow sufficient margin.

Frequently asked questions
What temperature can a heat-resistant castor withstand?
This depends on wheel material, bearing and lubrication. Specific limits are given in the manufacturer's technical documentation of each series.
Are cast iron wheels suitable for sensitive floors?
Cast iron wheels are hard and can stress sensitive floors. Heat-resistant plastic wheels are often the better option, provided the temperature range fits.
