FESTO Valves for Pneumatics and Process
FESTO directional control valves, solenoid valves, VPPL proportional pressure regulators and other valves for controlling and regulating compressed air.
What do valves do?
In pneumatic systems, valves control the direction, pressure and flow of compressed air. They determine when a cylinder extends, how firmly a gripper closes or how fast a drive moves. FESTO offers a very extensive valve range, from simple manually operated valves and electrically actuated solenoid valves to proportional valves for infinitely variable control. This category includes VPPL proportional pressure regulators, which precisely set the output pressure via an electrical setpoint signal, for example in pressing, clamping or test applications.
Valve types and selection criteria
- Directional control valves: designated by number of ports and switching positions, e.g. 3/2-way or 5/2-way valve.
- Actuation: electrical via solenoid coil, pneumatic, mechanical or manual.
- Proportional valves: for infinitely variable pressure or flow control; setpoint as voltage or current signal, on VPPL indicated by V1 or A4.
- Pressure range: a key criterion for pressure regulating valves.
- Flow and connection: nominal size and thread to suit the consumer.
- Mounting: individual valve with tubing connection or valve for mounting on a valve terminal or sub-base.
- Other valves: shut-off, flow control, non-return and pressure regulating valves complete the range.
Valves at KSK Components
At KSK Components you will find FESTO valves together with drives, air preparation, sensors and connection technology from a single source. This lets you procure complete pneumatic circuits together and quickly identify replacement valves for maintenance. Frequently asked questions
What does 5/2-way valve mean?
The valve has five ports and two switching positions. It is typically used to control double-acting cylinders.
When do I need a proportional pressure regulator?
When pressure needs to be varied during operation and set electrically, for example for different contact forces.
How do I find a replacement valve?
Use the full type designation of the valve to identify the identical product unambiguously.
